EIFS – Exterior Insulation Finish System
For quality, durability, and overall maintenance free care, you just can’t beat EIFS. EIFS is a multi-layered wall system that provides you with the benefit of excellent energy efficiency, unlimited color choices, and texture and design that will make any home or building more attractive.
The EIFS system is made up of the following:
- A waterproofing application is applied over an exterior sheathing prior to the insulation board
- Insulation board consists of polystyrene or polyisocyanurate (ISO) foam. It is then secured to the exterior wall with either special adhesives or mechanical attachments
- A water resistant base coat is applied on top of the insulation, which is then reinforced with fibre glass mesh for additional strength and durability
- On top of the water resistant base coat, an attractive acrylic stucco finish is applied, which results in a colorfast and crack resistant finish
